Hey Daz, at least it's gone to a good home, we know Shane will take care of it and you won't be a stranger, I'm sure.

Congrats on the RR, nice and Safe for the upcoming Family. Bit of a willy waver though if you ask me, I'm only jealous

lol ! Cheers dude..

Always fancied one tbh, and needed something I could not compare to the CSL, totally other end of the scale, it shifts along too ( in a straight line ) for a tank, 7 ish seconds to 60

And also wafts about effortlessly when cruising, was in london last night as one of mates was having a birthday do, and must admit felt nice smoking about in it ( yes I wasn't drinking for a change )

Now I can say thanks Daz, the easiest sale of a car ever, if only every buyer was like me

I will look after her and get her minted up, and use her properly, she will be perfect, but deffo no garage queen in my ownership. A full on clean track slag.

this weeks plan, before the ring trip.
.........geo (who did it Daz? its miles out),
.........fit full set of cup+ tyres,
.........refurb wheels, swap buckled wheel out.
.........fit new seat/harness,
.........modify my shifter for one armed monkey style,

Cant wait for next week, really looking forward to getting out and back in the CSL groove.

@ Gorilla boy

The E92 imo was a great car, not as balanced or as much finesse as the CSL, but a quick car.

I would be interested to see the weight distribution on the scales, but me and my business partner where wondering where all the weight comes from, all alloy suspension, alloy subframes etc, but theres no denying it is heavy, very heavy. It was fast, but the front was prone to pushing out, more so than the CSL. In terms of grunt it destroyed the CSL, and if you could get the weight down to 1350 it would IMO be a serious bit of kit, providing weight distribution was sorted.

It felt more twitchy than the CSL on the limit.

If done correctly then it could be a great car.

Agree on all of that Shane. I find the V8 more composed up to a point but on the raged edge the CSL is far more balanced with the right geo. Many people have said the saloon is slightly better balanced than the coupe and I think at 6-8 tenths pace it is. On the limit I find the saloon is a touch more progressive. Maybe it has slightly better weight split? But to be honest, fast road driving your always really in that 6-8 tenths pace bracket so perfect for the road.

For me the V8 is a road tool only and the only mod is altered geo so can't comment on track performance.

I was always waiting for you to strip the weight out properly, see how it goes. Would be very tasty @1350kg's

Hi Lawsy,

Did you go any further than Mug of tea
and a scratch, when discussing the E92
Weight reduction with your Business Partner ?

Its just that I was looking into this and
seem to be around 175kgs adrift from
where it would be nice to be, ie 1350/1300 kgs ?

Obvious offeneders removed and or replaced
with lighter eqv, wheels, Brakes, suspension
components, Exhaust, seats, linings, noise installation etc
getting below 1475kgs is not easy.

Even with say Carbon panels, ex the doors / Glass
both not practical on a Road based Track car,
then 1450kg is about it from what I can see,
and still at least 125/150 kg from where you want to be
with the F/R weight ratio creeping towards front
bias at around 55/56% V 45/44%.

Regards,

The Gorilla.

Yes and seller

Was done last year before the last ring trip, but has done 20k or so miles since then, so really would of needed another before any serious track time, as the bloody UK roads are shit and not ideal to keep the geo spot on, the race cars were geo'd after each day so not surprising it's out .. so yes agree.. ( was done at AMD in essex ) and very well at the time
