My dealer let me take my own oil which cost me 59quid from opie for 8L,then the oil service was 80quid,so i got an oil service done at a main dealer for 139quid,and some oil left for top ups.

I know its the wrong insp but i was ringing round my local main dealers last week and ocean falmouth wouldve done an insp II for £800 all in, incl a car while mine in for 2 days. Westerly Exeter price matched this. Mine not due for a while yet, but i thought i would just put that down here.

They've dropped their prices then as they were the most expensive when i was quoted for an Insp II last year - almost £1200!!! Needless to say they didn't get my business...

Just as I thought! Chandlers have quoted the wrong price. They originally quoted £475 after checking it against the chassis number because the computer 'works it out', and I have now had another e-mail from a colleague saying they didn't allow for the correct parts! They are now quoting £635!!

It never ceases to amaze me how inept some of these service departments are!

Cheapest so far is now Snows - £551 inc v.a.t.

I'm just leaving it with them, trying to borrow a trailer to keep the miles off the car... how sad is that

trying to do less than 3k a year, the Spa trip will kill it in 2010
