Agreed Mike. 30K(£) csl's are no longer available. At long last our loyalty to the CSL is now paying off. 10 years from now any CSL will not be exchanging hands for anything south of 60K(£). |

130,000 Euros for one in Germany. Think UK has alot of catching up to do.

Anyone that has bought a e46 m3 to drive it quicker than a Csl round a track
Knows how much time and ££££ needs to be invested. Yep £60k minimum and I think that's over the next few years. |

There's a SB 64k mile car on PH going for £34k.
IIRC this was sold by GP Cars earlier this year and was previously owned by a forum member. http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...--2004/4365853 |

Ha ha. That was exactly my thought. Why do people just not bother doing the job properly?

Does anyone know that car?
It's high on owners but mileage seems ok and GP cars are reputable aren't they? It was with them for less money a few months ago so the buyer is making a bit but hey ho |

The thing about the CSL is that when you scratch your head and ask yourself what the next logical step up is, the answer inevitably ends up being a GT3 or Even GT3 RS. The Renault Trophy series or JCW Minis just don't cut it so GT3 it is. Trouble is, GT3s are around double the price of a good CSL and that probably is a leap too far for the majority of CSL owners. The CSL has it's niche.
Even if GT3 prices slump a little there will remain a band of buyers that can stretch to a £40K toy but not an £80K toy. It's these buyers who will push values up. All of the above being said the CSL is an old car now and there are plenty of people who will be put off with this. Owning and running a 13 year old car comes with it's own set of challenges and plenty of people won't entertain doing any sort of DIY. This aspect will shrink the pool of potential buyers. I'm starting to ramble now. All I know is that the couple who were camping next to us at Le Mans remarked on how many people had doubled back to have a squint around the CSL over the weekend. 13 years on they obviously still draw attention. ![]() |
