I've driven many roads in France. The Vosges can be good, as can the Massif Central and the Route Napoleon on a week day out of season.
But, an absolute belter I have driven twice and been blown away both time are the roads from the A51 Durance Valley Autoroute basically) west to the Mont Ventoux area (Vaison La Romaine)
Going west you could start on the the D946 at La Tuiliere and then the D542 and then D40 (via Saint-Vincent-Sur-Jabron). But they are all good. Just search for Sederon (in the middle of the area) and any of the roads west or east of there are great.

Just one trip on those roads will provide a better driving experience in a couple of hours than 99% of M owners will ever have in a lifetime on the road.
It just endless empty corners, straights, gorges etc that go on and on and on…

Be careful though - not sure what you've got but my tom tom show no limit when you're on the 'bahn, but it also shows no limit when it doesn't know what the limit should be.

The German police will take the stance that you should know the limit.

My trick if I'm not sure is to wait for around 1km or so and if I've not seen a conflicting sign - bang it in to S6 and flatshift to happiness.

It works really nicely when you come out of the many 80km (50mph) roadworks you'll... 50-155 legally... LOVE THE AUTOBAHN
