Had mine for 2 years, no track work but a couple of runs up Santa Pod and Raf Marham. Awesome cars. I did have the gearbox software updated by Litchfields which transformed the way the car engaged the clutch for 1st gear and reverse manoeuvres.

Service costs are high, tyres are expensive and sometimes difficult to get hold of but none of this matters when you hit the loud pedal

My gearbox temp was up to the temp where Nissan say the fluid needs changing, that was after 3 laps too. additional coolers can be fitted

It monstered the juice on track.

Depending on what year you go for, service intervals are too short.

Tyres can be expensive. Although lesser performance tyres can be had for less money.

Launch control on them is manic.

Easily tuned to reliable 600bhp.

They are a nice car to drive, very easy to go quick. Bit harder to go really really quick. I found if you drove it smooth like you have to drive the CSL it was slower than when I drove it aggressively. My take on that, is the wizardry in the trick diffs is better than the chassis is. It would be an awesome car to drive to the ring/spa and in standard form will do mid 2.40's @ Spa.

Prices seemed to have halted declining too, and seem to have settled, surprising me as that was one reason why I sold my last one. I was scared of them declining quickly.

There are a high number of great tuners out there. My mate tunes them and started on the import ones before UK release, so he knows his stuff.
Cheers Shane. I was looking at it mainly as a road car a bit surprised how weak it seems for doing any track days with the gearbox and brakes, Ii know they raised the max gearbox temp in europe due to the hotter weather. The one I drove has been chipped and the main dealer will put manufactuers warranty on it which is a must when a replacement engine is quoted at £40k. Always looked at having a car for several years maybe should look at it shorter term for a bit fun and keep csl as well. Dont think I could hand over the csl keys, but that GTR was just awesome

I couldn't stop smiling when it hit 4krpm kept waiting for traction to break and not a chrirp out the tryes. Awaiting a price for the csl then i'll make a decision. Thought it would be a sensible car for winter with 4wd

If your thinking of getting rid of CSL, let me know about your slicks

A vid I took of a passenger lap of the Ring in a GT-R in 2010.
Includes some CSL's too, maybe people on here ?

My memories included overtaking a Caterfield with two wheels on the grass and the car's seeming ability to just deal with anything thrown at it. Sooo much grip, just bullied the track. Fantastic experience.
