you can never have good enough brakes

on my alcon setup with XP12 front and XP10 rear I still wish for more. Spoilt with the ceramic jobbies on the porker.

Buy the best you can

Definitely agree with doing in pairs too. I find doing one caliper makes the car pull to one side.

Having been there and got the t-shirt, I can honestly say that if a job is worth doing, it is worth doing properly. The Brembo calipers on a Carrera are designed for a different car. Different weight distribution, different disks, different brake balance requirements, different rear calipers etc etc.

Years ago I put 840ci Brembo calipers on the front of an e36 M3 Evo. A friend did the same, fitting Skyline GTR Brembo calipers on the front of his 200sx.

They looked great...

But it didn't stop both cars getting through rear brake pads about twice as fast as fronts...

I think a proper BBK is the way to go.

At the end of the day it is an M3 CSL and it deserves proper brakes, designed for it.

It's one good reason for doing it properly fronts and rears

FYI , my BREMBOs are off a Cayman S that comes in @ an Unladen EU weight of 1425 kg with Manual gear box or 1465 kg with the Tiptronic gear box, near identical to the M3 CSL @ 1460 kg, both with balanced chassis unlike the above example of what NOT to do i.e. a 2000 kg 840 Ci V 1200 kg E36 M3 with completely different chassis characteristics
