shows you where you are gaining time as it happens so you can really work out what lines are working
I know the answer to that one Nathan, everywhere

maybe one for the future

where is the first race?
Anglesey 22nd May

Thanks Bret, Rob

you'll soon find out how pricey racing and testing is
and all that goes with it

Quote:
Surprised you chose to test and noT Trackday as normally it is much more pricey and most important thing until you get set up right and up to speed is seat time if you are on a budget
I wanted to do a track day, open pit lane but my mate Mark said the only place to test for times is on a test day.. Ive booked some track days now

Quote:
Good start though
I was gutted
I think I got 25 mins max in 2 sessions, plus 2 pit drive ins on the 1st session ... really not good time in the seat

Every one of our mx5 has finished their races (except ones that have been badly damaged by impact)

I'm hoping these are just small glitches. The engine was rebuilt by some outfit in Anglesey who we don't know. We will sort these bits out and it may have to go to the main man in Manchester during the winter break if need be.
don't mention contact Shimmy.. I haven't seen an XR challenge video without contact

We have had 3 weekends racing. Two cars have been T Boned (didn't need reshell) and one has done a clutch and diff. Engines have been fine and repair costs to bod damage luckily very low tbh. Two damaged bumps to the bumper and door in the hire car we charged £20 labour to knock it out

We were lucky at the weekend, Ken in our hire car was tapped, spun and then T Boned and he Dar tha hit him is a right mess but our just has two panes, damaged either side f rear wheel. We'll just knock it out and take some cash towards later repairs

the engine was stripped today and some bits ordered, dont ask me what

Apart from the thread (well written for a Preston lad)thanks for your support Jim the vbox really does show how bad I am, thanks for loaning and wiring it up Jim

it can only get better and my 1st 15mins were quicker shame the cameras weren't set up. I think the steering, the spin and the cylinder down didnt help me or the car with my 2nd stint.

next day, race day : smt100

7 - I must admit the steering wheel thing is a tad worrying you will have to get that looked into before Anglesey... its not too far into the drink there

Like I said Steve it was a good day out, giving me a good insight into the pitfalls of racing ( don't think I'll be doing it any time soon! )

I'll send you all the data over, so you can see for yourself

See you at Anglesey ( you may have to put in a recce for specific tools... spark plug socket)
