IMHO, hand the whole matter over to BMW UK http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/about/cse...0207__,00.html and involve a decent lawyer, working on your side. Falsifying legally binding documents i.e. the AUC check is point blank illegal and U have written proof (ammo for the AK 47) Lock & Lode

Now I used to have access to an F1 style pitcrew who could do all that in 15 seconds, but mere mortals like the others on here can't do that.... |

it takes me 5 minutes to take the oil reading and 10 minutes to fish out the screws from the engine bay

Hi,
SpineonBap- the CSL airbox is in three sections. If you remove the bottom 2 hex screws that hold the 'funnel' part of the airbox onto the where the flap is, and leave them out then checking oil on the dipstick is a 5 minute job. The 'funnel' also fits on a lip so the 2 top screws are more than suffecient to hold it in place. All you have to do then, is remove the top 2 'funnel' hex screws, disconnect the electrical plugs to the flap, move the SMG Fluid resivoir up out of its bracket, then pull the funnel part out, then remove the 4 screws holding the second part of the airbox, which are on the top lip, remove this, and you can then access the dip stick. Pending which strut brace you have then just undoing one side and lifting up, does that in a couple of minutes. I removed the bottom 2 'funnel' screws the first time I had to check the oil via the dip stick and they will stay out. Regards, The Gorilla. |

Any pictures Gorilla of what bits you are refering to/procedure just so that the less mechanically minded are able to give this ago. I have too say that as good as MarkCSL's video and instructions for dipstick access are good it does seem a long process to acheive the aim. Your shortcut sounds just the ticket.

Thanks for the replys Guys.
I collected the car on wednesday eve. AUC redone, oil level checked all ok. Work that should have been completed still outstanding. I recieved an apology of sorts through gritted teeth. Contacted dealer 1 to get their AUC issues resolved & guess what, everyone on holiday, no notes left, no call backs. I now have 3 seperate AUC checks on the same car on my desk. All with totally different findings, the discs & pads for instance have grown in thickness quite dramatically as the inspections have progressed (front discs now 1.3 mm thicker than last week!) This morning i sent emails to Jane noble (Head of customer relations BMW UK) CC'd Tim Abbot (BMW UK MD), explaing the situation & requesting their help in resolving it. I have indicated that matters will take a more formal /and or more pubic turn if not resolved. Fraud by a franchised dealer is a serious issuse & i hope they treat it as such. We will see if the email provokes any action. |

If they don't want to play ball then BMW AG in Munich will be you next port of call, but lets hope there is no need to escalate matters that far
