my changes WILL BE ON THE CSL though i think. Plan will be decided in January.

What seats you running shimmy,

Ditch standard seats, 20-30kg ish saving

remove rear seats etc 5-10kg ish

remove aircon, 15-20kg ish

Buy some mega bucks light weight wheels, unsprung weight is multiplied compared to sprung weight loss.

Carbon rear bumper.

Just a few quick ideas

theres nearly 40-70kg.

I had a session of stripping my track slag tonight, front seats, rear seats, parcel shelf out, stupid rear sunblind out, harmon kardonn base thing out, tv tuner out, sat nav reader out, cd changer out, drove it home, You can feel the difference already, feels far less lardy.

God I'm sad - figures for some CSL bits, includes some packing but may be helpful to the Shimster:

Rear Side Bolsters – 900g x 2 = 1.8kg
Box of brackets and clips = 0.8kg
Headrest – 600g x 2 = 1.2kg
Rear side panels (packed together) = 3kg
Rear Seat Bench = 7kg
Front door cards (Packed together with speakers) = 8.8kg
Rear seat backs (packed together) = 9.5kg
Front seat unwrapped - 20kg x 2 = 40kg

On the weight issue Shim, how about only filling the fuel tank to half full ? Density of petrol = 737.22 kg/m^3
Remove plastic wheel arch liners?
Have a good turn out before each lap?
Make sure that the washer bottle is empty ? Density of H2O = 1 kg/litre
Then again, if said washer bottle is empty, take it and the bracket out !
Remove all paint from bodywork?
Only use 3 wheel studs...thats plenty if you do 'em up tight !

After stripping the CSL I can tell you theres a lot of weight that can be taken out of it! The front pollen filter assembly weights a tonne, and lots of the interior parts are excessive too like the solid foam blocks in the back, the 2 inch thick carpet, etc...

There however is only one small bit of sound proofing and that is in the drivers foot well by the throttle pedal.
