I TOTALLY agree with that. Stay well clear of that one, unless U fancy throwing bags of cash at it just to make it OK. Once it's on the HPI Cat list, it's marked for life and will NEVER be as desirable as a HPi clear, looked after example.

RUN AWAY....If it doesn't look right or feel right don't bother.

It has a M badge on the back but no CSL...You do find that breakers will sell parts off 'Cat' car parts and replace with 'normal' cheaper parts to make money. But there are better cars for thr money....Very strange this one.

id be surprised if it was not a CSL originally but the front damage might be worse than just a front bumper (as cat D would suggest that the cost of the damage was considerable)

as said above if the rebuilder didnt even bother waiting for a CSL bumper or even a replica CSL bumper for £300 then he obviously has no idea what he is doing

It's a "Patchy OLD SHED" not worth bothering yourself about. Don't be a Muppet and LEAVE it well alone or you'll end up a "Rainy Face"

Isn't this all based on speculation? Has anyone actually phoned up to ask the history of the car? Maybe some repair photos?

It is very easy to write off a car like the CSL because of the part prices. They could of put an M3 bumper on because the CSL item takes months.

For me, it is cheap enough to be tempting. I'd just do some more research. I wouldn't put any money down before a professional inspection either.

Cat D will be hard to insure and is worth 60-70% of a clean proper one tops...

Steer away!

I'm viewing a CSL tomorrow that's cheeper... and a 1000 times better and I'm saying this even before I've see it in metal. That Cat D CSL will NEVER be 100% right. And as for as finding more about it's history... what's the point. The seller should have already mentioned the important information such as the history, in the Ad and the lack of it further indicates that there is NO service history worth mentioning. To me it reads as an uncared shed that's had a BIG off. £22 K is NOT cheap for a Crashed CSL, but as with all thing in life, it's your call
