I have to say Porsche do have something right to keep their residuals up on the GT series cars, the GT4 is fetching silly money over list price just because it's completely unavailable, I think JZM have one...it's gorgeous, but not at £104k!

I guess the problem is that the speculators have got in straight away with the GT4 , which means that there's probably loads of examples out there which won't get enjoyed properly or get into the hands of driving enthusiasts and it'll remain that way if the inflated prices continue.

thing with the GT4 is, it is the bigger engined GT fettled cayman loads of Pork fans have been waiting for the last 10 years. Much like another CSL, if it were to be released at 70k. That's surely another 100+ page thread in the making.
The parallels are there except perhaps even more so in the Gt4 you get the bigger engine, clubsport pack, Gt3 brakes, gt3 front suspension, bespoke rear suspension, lightweight flywheel, solo manuel GT car and bespoke aero package all for the entry price of 70k (when you factor in 5k for clubsport + buckets). Other than the Gt3 engine (but you get to row gears), you have it all. The GT3 retails for 101k but punters have it at 130k. The 911 R (tbc) will have production of less than 1k worldwide and have an astronomical price tag. Sure, you get the Gt3 engine AND the manuel but at what price? Tell me in the porsche world of NEW/nearly new cars, what else comes close? Unless you start flipping the back-catalog of pork hits, which are getting eye wateringly expensive as well, what's out there? This is a biased opinion but unless the older GT cars start coming down in price, the Gt4 will stay at 100k easily. In short, yes supply is an issue but it is not expensive at 100k (in comparison with what else porsche is offering)...you tried configuring a new manuel 911 carrera S? |

M4 is a better choice in my opinion.

I'm hoping that BMW get it right with the M2. That's going to be limited numbers too though...
While I was very impressed with the M4, it's not really a Cayman rival, more of an alternative to the 911.

I had the same problem, really wanted a GT4 outright purchase they were just not interested in selling one to me. I must have called 20 dealers. I think they were all reserved for loyal customer. I have since tried for a 911R, LOI is in but not heard anything.
