just a normal e46 m3, ive been building it for a while ready for some track use, did a day at blyton last sunday and as good as it was, i was suffering some oil temp creep which i would like to remedy before the next outing at some where proper, i.e donnigton or cadwell.... ive been itching to get a look at some really well prepped m3's so i figured this forum would be the place to start |

How hot? 120 ish?
Fit an electric fan or get someone like Adem on here to fit it for you. Remove Aircon and front pusher fan. |

i was planning on getting rid of the viscous fan and its cowling, and replacing with an electric unit, the plastic cowling looks like it will stop the air from flowing through the rad clean, so i was hoping removing that would also be an improvment. I have also ordered a new oe radiator, as the old one doesn't look the best any more and next step i had considered replacing the oil cooler with a larger aftermarket unit, mocal or something along those lines....

mine was sitting around 120, once it crept above that so i steady'd off a touch, and did the same, some shortshifting and pulling taller gears. ill see what happens at donnington, may go on for the afternoon if there is some spaces

i have the AC removed, but have left both AC and radiator fans in place and just replaced the oil cooler.
AC fan comes on at 95 degrees C and guess what when it is on, the airflow is giver with it on than removing the entire unit. at least that's what i was told by simpson motorsport when they removed the AC on mine. |
