What?an smg update using a phone and a lead??
I don't know how much info it will exchange before it crashes or even if iPhone has capacity to hold that much info

What a load of rubbish .. there's only been 5 software versions (current 7843255) ... and I've tested this latest one versus two generations before 7836386 (which is currently in my car) and it is a softer shifting software. Smoother shift definitely, but less aggressive by a country mile.
Also you can do this quite easily on your own if you have the right cable and software via winkfp ... it takes like 8 minutes to do. If you are worried with screwing something up just buy a second hand SMG module and flash the CSL Software ZB onto it with your vin .. easy peasy. They are exactly the same hardware wise, just run different software. |

Simpsons have always said that ever SMG upgrade has been slower and softer (presumably to avoid trouble with gearbox and warranty
