By far the biggest culprit of exhaust drone is the fitting of aftermarket 100 cell cats as I have experienced this firsthand. My car is generally 100dB at track days and passes straight away so long as it is hot as you say.

I forgot to mention that my set up is a little bit loud at 106dB, so not suitable for anything other than the likes of Snetterton or Silverstone . I have to fit the standard back-box back on if I want to go on any other track .
However, it DOES sound the bollocks - skip to 51s and crank up the speakers .

I have SS lwt race, res centre section and 100 cell cats and have never failed a static test or drive by test (except Zolder where I went past all the meters in 3rd ) I personally think the best set up is SS lwt race, OeM centre, and 100 cell cats (for the extra 5bhp)

Im running a catless, single exit system on mine. Should be fab'd end of month. Couple of inline silencers.
Loads lighter, just waiting to see the db levels. |
