I'd echo the comments re alternator. Mine started triggering the red battery warning light under hard throttle as the revs rose above 3500rpm. Similar to what you say - no other issues and the light could be kept off by driving lie Grandma. Alternator changed under warranty and no more problems

Cheers. Cars of the road for winter now but looks like a new one will be required.
It's been plugged into the ctek for a month. Started it today and kicked in as normal. So battery must be OK ????
