I don't think gearboxes should count as they're not SMG specific.

i have a 6sp and blew my clutch and tranny on the track (shifted from 4th to 3rd at 100mph
 )i had the clutch replaced, and flywheel (spec 1 clutch, jb ltw flywheel). after that, gears grinded from 2nd to 3rd, or 4th to 3rd. It sucked. had the tranny replaced by BMW |

I'venot had any problems so far, and I had an SMG M3 for 2.5 years before my CSL and never had a problem. Not heard of anyone else having any problems either.
