OK, the good news is that my car is ready, suspension back in, new oem clutch and flywheel.

Bad news is as soon as I started it she was sitting in the red on the temp gauge with the red illuminated!!!

Garage going to check whats wrong first thing tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed I can get this fixed by Friday lunchtime, otherwise no Donnington for me

Temp sender mate, mine failed as well, its quite common. We can test coolant temp at circuit for you to make sure, we might even have a spare. Also, not sure if you got the message but we're taking down some cooling ducting for you for the SMG heat issue along with a couple of other tricks.

John, me being technical and all - is that the same as the thermostat?

I drove the car for 5 minutes today and it was already in the red - something certainly wrong.

The bmw guys reckon its the viscous clutch on the fan - they can stop it with their hand (not literally) when it should be taking their hand off.

We've ordered both, and are fitting them tomorrow morning, then I'm driving down the road. Cutting it fine, but I'll be there!

Adam gave me the message, thanks - I appreciate your help on that.

See you on Saturday! Looking forward to it.
