Any comments, or are all 3 of us just driving gods and you can't get any better?

just did the overlay and quite interesting Steve. Send me your .dbn files if you can (dare!) and ill do a comparison (private ) of some
of the corners.

looksing at the raw data i think Riches you take a tight line which if nothing is behind, is not necessary as the entry is wide left and second apex but otherwise they look similar (but you are faster)

i need some slicks!

I don't have any data logging from last year Shim but hopefully will this year. Go ahead and compare them, I have the gearbox broken issues to blame for any shortcomings

You'll need to tell me which corner is Riches - I know bombhole but thats about it

I gave up trying to get it to work last year. It was neatly plugged in (wired permanently) but I could never get it working. And at Hockenheim it was the same, but I've paid £20 for lifetime support now so I'll download the latest firmware and try again this weekend. Fingers crossed!

p.s. does anyone take bombhole flat? My best time was 1.17 something (and on slicks, so Shimmy is faster/close enough bearing in mind his 1.19 was on Cups) but the front guys were doing 1.14s, and they were noticeably quicker through the bombhole than me

Pretty sure it could be flat in my car but was having a lift as I'm a gayer. Only running 320bhp and car weighed 1340kg so my flat is't quite as good as your flat

Best was a 17.5 - our data shows Shimmy is a full 10mph quicker down the back straight due to our lack of power and I guess wing induced drag.

With downforce and slicks I guess it could be flat but with mine you need to steady the car and touch the brakes to get front end to grip before turning in. With slicks/splitter your front end might be grippy enough already.

To compare coram and riches would be most interesting as I think with slicks and downforce your corner speed should be 10-15 mph quicker than me but it doesn't look that much on the video.

Will be an interesting weekend at snett and I bet youlll do well steve, I'm cheering for you !

But as Mike Wilds kept telling me, "stop jiggling the steering wheel"

Hopefully I'll have some data this weekend to compare. My car last year had slicks but no extra downforce, just the same as your car. It was only after the last race I looked back and realised I was the only car on the grid with a bolt in cage

Jiggling is cool, makes you look like a hero

See you at the weekend!

From what I can remember, having had a fair bit of lager since the last round of the CSL Cup , it's a ballsy corner the bombhole, I was lifting slightly as well, and like steve was my first time round.

Car had no downforce, running slicks , 120k miles old M3 fully striped out, carbon roof etc, but running std engine and normal glass etc etc.. my time in std class was in low 1.19's all weekend.

So shim thats a good time in a CSL, and on cups, as Stevo says nick foster and thorney were the quickest that race running all the toys, with downforce were in the low 1.14's.

And deffo need to dab the brakes to settle the car a little and make the nose dive on entry to it ..

Good luck steve mate, hope you have a cracking weekend, I might make it up myself and have a supporting season as im now retired

And as it's going be the only chance to post up race pics this season :-(

Here is a cheeky shot of me having some lift just after the bombhole, with the gill in hot pursuit !!

That would be great, we're staying at the same hotel as last year

At least now you can say, "that would never have happened in my day"

My recollection of my own driving was that the lift was far too long, so although I'd like to pretend it was a quick lift it probably went on for about 3 seconds

I must try harder. Will try and improve this weekend
