Default front bumper...

i really cant belive it, someone has just reversed into my from bumper and put a 2 foot crack in it above the numberplate luckily i wa walking away from having just parked and heard the noise. the guys has admitted its his fault, had a car full of kids and was really sorry. however front bumbers are hard to come by right?

what's even more infiriating is that in only just been painted about 6 weeks ago

i would be grateful for some advice, do insurance companies just try repair them? which i am not happy about, then genuine part is very costly iirc?

thanks for you help

If its not that bad then it will be repaired, but you could always talk to your garage and tell them to request a replacement as CF is hard to fix? Just make an excuse that it will now be fragile in that point and thus wont absorb the impact of a future accident, thus being unsafe.

PM Nords and see what his recent experiences were.

A fix is possible but takes time and car will be off the road whereas replcement can take months.

Yes I was told the same, next week, next week.............. oh, out of stock,........... next month, & so on..............

They come painted from the factory, all they do is bolt it on. 30 mins later job done.

I bet thats plus VAT

Hope things have changed, this was about 18 months ago

Best of luck

What a pain in the arse i had someone hit my rear diffuser and it took 5 months to get repacement.Worse is my insurance has now gone up on both csl and r32 because some dozy twit cant drive.I have to notify them of a claim for 3 years so on both cars prob cost me a grand.when i questioned the insurance company bout it not being my fault they said as i have been in a accident i am now more likely to be involved in another one so hence the rise.Oh and i was protected no claims what a joke.

Dazza (DazBlackCSL) had exactly the same thing happen earlier this year and his car is having the bumper repaired/sprayed. I'm sure he could offer some advice

Yep .. some fucker reversed into the front bumper in london, and I was away from car.

Big crack in the carbon to, but my bloke says no issues in repairing it, so he's doing just that, full respray and filling in the no plate holes .. etc etc

Oh and both wings and complete bonnet and B pillar

Dont think my car has ever looked like it will on sunday

I waited 3 months for a bumper only for it to not fit properly, and splitters not fitting right... BMW agreed to replace under warranty (so far been waiting since May as the dealer allegedly sent the 2nd one away and now waiting for 3rd) NIGHTMARE
