Default using them ?

all this talk of values is upsetting my karma .. now everytime I've got a trip to do , I actually sit and debate wether its worth taking the CSL as its going to add mileage

So , last night took the CSL on a 250 mile return drive into the Scottish borders for a meeting I was doing .. all on the back roads .... poor headlights , supersports , -2 deg , damp roads ... had a great, if somewhat 'exciting' in places , drive Car clicked over 69K miles .

So thats it , I'm coming upto 70K miles , car wil be worthless soon

Don't worry, be happy. You bought it to enjoy it so do that. It will always be worth something. Its not like you are loosing money as with most cars.

I love the fact I've used mine

Me and the girlfriend are going to do a tour of France in mine later this year. It ticked over 123,000 yesterday and that should add another 2K.

It's had so much replaced in its lifetime you just need to see it, look at the bills and realise it's no normal 123k car. We shall see if and when I sell it.

Agreed it will be worth nothing when you reach 70k. To avoid you the disposal cost I will take it off your hands for nothing.

I am no expert but I reckon once they reach the 20 year point mileage will be less reflective on price. I kept the mileage down on my e39 M5 and then it was written off due to an old biddy 't' boning me and so I regret not taking her out more.

My enemy is time and having two other great cars - GT3 and Mini GP. I have to admit to using the GP more as it saves door dingers and more frustration in congested roads. My GT3 and CSL are only at 40,000 ish miles.

CSL is going in for its service three months late - Inspection I. I will have to check the service record as it may be Insp II . Anyway that is my asking price kaput To be fair I have probaby only done a Nururgring trip or two since the last service.

Going to Bartletts on Monday.

This is actually my biggest fear. Prices are rising so much that if, even by someone else's fault the car was written off, I highly doubt the insurance company will pay the extra £10k for the next cheapest replacement, so that moment would be last time I'd ever own or drive a CSL.

I for one congratulate you Sir Well done that man & his Cecil
... and I know exactly what you mean by the highlighted statement even at a measly 92K miles my Cecil is approaching
Very unseasonably for me, however last Sunday I managed a stellar 180 miles round trip, in one day without missing a beat after 5 months of full on hibernation.

86K on the clock.

This year I have a trip to Le Mans Classic;
2 Knockhill track days;
A drive it day Scotland Tour;
Hill climb event for the Royal Deeside Speed Festival;

Oh and my better half has a track driving tuition day

Between times I'm keeping it wrapped up in cotton wool.

I bought my Audi A2 and CSL around the same time. Audi A2 doesn't get used much anymore, can't stand it when I have a car sitting around doing little which is why it will have to go! CSL meanwhile seems to enjoy the school run and other chores so it will stay
