On balance the resonated centre section is easier to live with.

Non res centre section is very boomy around 2000-2200 rpm in higher gears.

On track its ace!!
I used to run csl headers and cats with SS resonated x pipe and a titanium exhaust with the csl airbox on my previous comp pack e46 m3. With the csl i am actually debating whether to mod or not but I really do want a bit more noise from the exhaust as well!

I was fannying about as to which route to go, shall I have this or should I do this etc, etc.

Decided eventually to go the way of the bits I've ordered, had to jump in somewhere. If it's a bit too noisy I'll just sell the non res bit and get a resonated part.

My GP was a bit loud (especially when I had to stick a R56 exhaust on it) and it got to the point of being wearing, although the noise from a 6 cylinder is always going to be better than a 4 cylinder.

As long as it doesn't drown out the induction noise I'll be happy with it.

This set-up was on my car when I purchased it, with the Supersprint "Race" back-box given as part of the deal. I found it too raspy (but it was sufficiently quiet that the induction noise was the over-riding benefit).

I changed the back-box over to the SSR and Oh. My. God. It is LOUD, (105dB static at 5000rpm), but the noise is a nice deep sound. However, now the exhaust and induction fight for supremacy, so you loose the intensity of the airbox with this set-up. The benefit is that it saves nearly 15kg compared to the standard exhaust system.

FEEL THE NOISE !

Spoke to Gareth and Damien about doing this when I asked on here about it last year.

Was given pros and cons and decided to leave as is.

I also stated somewhere no changes / mods would be made to the car
