Default What was it?

I was interested to see your posts and the answers and wondered what it turned out to be?
I had something very similar on my old E30 Sport Evo. Virtually every warning light came on constantly or flashed intermittently, as well as the rev counter going berserk (no actual revving of the motor itself though). It turned out to be a failing alternator. Curiously, the only light that didn't come on during all of this was the red 'charge light'! Before someone suggests a duff bulb, it was good.

I had exactly the same problem with mine, inc the revving.

Turned out to be a wheel speed sensor.

Make sure it is a genuine BMW part not a pattern part.

I had the same problem as the OP on Friday. The dash was lit up and the car revved without me being anywhere near the pedal as I pulled into a side road a couple of times.
A new nearside wheel speed sensor has fixed everything

Funny this, read this post this morning just before I took the CSL out of hibernation, and got the exact same lights. No reving though and the car runs fine. They seem to go out after while, but always back on restart. Will get in touch Bartletts.

Thanks for the thread revival!

Took a pic btw..
wheel speed sensor, get your garage to plug it in and they will know which one is buggered. Change it, reset and you are on your way.

I had the same issue last year!

I had this last year. SMG amber cog kept coming on. I plugged it in and the offside rear wheel speed sensor was reading 543 km/h ! So I got a new one and swapped it myself. Easy job and done within the hour.
