Anything upto 4,000 is fine when cold. I don't go above that until the lights have gone out, since they're tied to the oil temp on the CSL (unlike the M3 where they're tied to water temp).
Anyway why's it 2700 and not 2800 or even 2750? |

Well it's been alright for me for over 5 years, not gonna start worrying now
And 4,000 is below the minimum warmup light, and only half the maximum rev limit. It's fiiiiiiine |

Lad at our place has a new shape Renault Clio Sport - red lines it from cold every night up the road - never ceases to amaze me how it hasnt spun a shell by now but it keeps on going
