Default Roof rail strip Replacement

Came home from a hand car wash to discover that my passenger side roof rail strip was missing. Assume it was hanging on by a thread and it literally blew off on the trip home! BMW have replacements in Germany and have two types of clips - one with self adhesive one without. I have ordered both types as small change and I want to stop it happening again. The roof now has a gutter with several black nodules, three blocks of dried aircraft grade glue and what looks like the remnants of some self adhesive. The carbon fibre looks like it is bonded to the side of the car with the same glue.

Anyone had any experience with replacing or refitting these strips as the local dealer and leading BMW panel beater havent seen this before?

Many thanks in advance.

You need to bond the new clips to the roof with winscreen adesive and keep trim weighted down whilst it sets . Hope this helps
