Default Rear seat catch releases not working

One of mine wasn't working today, and then the other one also stopped working too as I was poking about to see what was going on. Anyway, the following thread was helpful in fixing it:

http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=725237

Only problem was that the seat latch mechanism on one side wouldn't come out when unbolted, so I gave it a bit of "persuasion", and it came out, but a plastic bit broke off the latch cable, so now I need a new one of those.

The way the cable hooks into the latch is really weak, so I'm sure others of you have had/will see this on your cars.

I had problems with mine a few years ago. It is where the metal clip pops out of the bracket. I spoke to BMW who said I would have to order a new cable for some silly price. In the end I fixed it myself by clipping it back in and put a blob of Araldite (spelling - ?) into the point where the metal clip slots into the plastic bracket. It has not popped out since.
