Default Simple one, Indicator bulbs????

Hi there,
Just a quick one, in the indicators, main ones at the front (not the side repeators) are the bulbs a Bayonet style fitting or capless/wedge ones???
I guess they are removed from behind the wheelarch liner?
Many thanks.

Aaahhh, soon everything becomes clear, i was assuming (wrongly obviously) that the bulbs were accessed from behind the unit, and the removal of the uit was going to be a ballache.
I should have known the Germans would make it straightforward

Thanks for the replys peeps

i know what you mean Dave, popped them out today, got the silvertec bulbs fitted, job done.
Cant believe i have been looking at her for 5 + weeks , and it only dawned on me last night that it still had orange indicator bulbs
Oh the shame of it, anyway, all silver now, just waiting for my "white" light sidelight bulbs to arrive, the 3rd set , as it turns out LED wont work as the bulb warning system on the car doesnt like them as they are not earthed as a normal filament bulb is .
So i have sourced some PIAA ones which should do the trick.
Though when they came the other day, the company i bought them from ,"Upgraded" my order for the filament ones to ~LED~ ones as a christmas freebie, not often you end up swearing about a freebie upgrade.

Where did you get your silver indicator bulbs from mate ? Do they make that much difference ?? Got any pics ?

Did do the white side light ones / blue white from SSDD motorsport and looks better than the yellow std look

Hi , get the bulbs from Halfrauds, demon Thieves do them as well but they are cheaper at halfrauds, £9.95, they are silvertec ones, full chrome bulb, shines through as orange. Model no, BU5 81S offset pins.

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...egoryId_165688

Not all the smaller Halfrauds carry them, usually the bigger stores with a Ripspeed store inside.
They make an instant difference, look at any of the front end shots of this car http://www.cslregister.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1095 when the bulbs are in the indicators are just pure white/clear rather than fried egg look.
The sidelight bulbs, when they eventually tuen up are PIAA ones, they allegedly give a Xenon look light, to match the mains.Just got them from an E bay shop.
Cheers

Here mate,

I bought some chrome ones initially, but they looked too 'bluey' when the sun hit them, so I had a quick look at my E90 and discovered they're more silver looking - almost invisible. Same fitment too.

Chrome bulbs

E90 bulbs

Can get some square on shots 2mro of E90s if you want.

Mine are silvertec ones, they are chrome finish, and silver throughout, no blue visible at all.
Cant think why yours gave a bluey look, basically if they were chrome finish, then at no point could/would they look bluey, as per the pic you posted? bizarre.
