4.10 gears, any long term users?
Morning,
I've managed to pick up a Carbonetics LSD and thinking of building it with 4.10 gears. The search shows there has been a few adopters to 4.10, just wondering if any of you are still running this setup and if so how do you rate it for track and road use ? (live 2 hours from the nearest dual carriageway so motorways only come into it on the way to the Ring.) Read quite an entertaining thread where "Shimmy" raved about the 4.10 only to find he had a stock 3.64....hopefully he can chip in with a more accurate pov. Cheers. |

Manos from Greece runs 4.10.
He says it's very good for track use. Is the carbonetics the one from pistonheads ? |

It may have been the same seller, he was clearing stock and had a few to sell.
If it's good for track, hopefully I can bear it for some road use. Anyone really dislike it? What did you think of it Shimmy (the real one that is)? |

I went from 3.15 to 3.9 on my old e36 M3. It was really good on tight tracks but a little short for motorway and even on the ring. Topped out about 120 mph I think.
Your engine is constantly revving higher and harder so it will be tougher on the engine I would think. |

I guess like race teams, you ought to choose diff dependant upon the track and gearing needed. Worth a try, prob good at the ring.
