Wax and Detailing
Well I return from the south of France tomorrow and no doubt the car will deserve a good polishing soon again.
For the last few years I have mainly been using Zymol Creme wax on my cars but im nearing the end of a tub and need to replace it, quick shout out to you all to see whats good and whats popular, ive never ventured much from that, happy with all the other products i use just need to address the Wax issue, dont really have an issue with cost within reason assuming its good. I use a normal washing process and then this
http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...laze-cat9.html for the Grey Paint and this http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...laze-cat9.html for the CF Parts. And I use an Orange Wax, name of which escapes me but to be honest, it's not the greatest and now even that good at beading water. I'm going for Dodo Juice's Purple Haze this time for the Black M3 but not sure yet for the CSL. Following this thread with interest. |

Mines wrapped but the best products Ive found is this SV pre wax cleaner:
http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...ular-cat9.html Then SV Opaque http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acata...que-cat13.html The water beads perfectly and after a blast or TD the fly's just wipe off. If it wasnt wrapped id buy a pack like this: http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/cgi-b...K001#aZSVDK001 Or you could try something like this after polishing, tried it on the misses car: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...k&iozone=PDPz1 |

Hi all, I was going to start a new thread but it kind of relates to this one.
I am currently considering a few CSLs for sale between £22500 and £25000. The condition varies, but most of them have minor scuffing on the plastic areas, particularly on the seat backs and the plastic between the rear seats. Some could also do with being a bit shinier! The questions I have are: 1. If the wheels are quite kerbed, where should I be looking to get them repaired, and how much would it generally cost to recondition each wheel? 2. Can minor scratches and scuffs in the interior plastic be buffed out, and if so how, and at what cost? 3. Will a wax and polish make a big difference to the paintwork, or if it hasn't been regularly treated this way is it too late without some major detailing treatment? All advice gratefully received, and hopefully it will help me get my ideal CSL! |

Wax wise, Swisswax is my wax of choice, I currently am using the 'Best of Show' wax and it is superb.

2/ Not sure on this one. 3/ Yes it does if it's applied correctly, and if the car is washed properly it will not have many swirl marks in the paint, if the paint has defects you can easily remove them at home if you have the kit like a polisher, cleaner fluid, paint rubber etc. |

Can anyone help with No. 2?
Are there companies that get rid of all imperfections (particularly on plastic trim), and general signs of wear and tear on the interior? Has anyone done this when they bought their CSL, and any idea of a ball park cost for a car that is generally good condition but not perfect? Also, one car I'm looking at has a hole an inch across on the rear "seat panel" of one of the back seats. Anyone had alcantara repaired? Presumably the damaged section can be replaced up to the nearest seams/stitching, but any recommendations and idea of cost? Thanks |
