Question on DS2500 pads
Has anyone used DS2500 pads on the front with proper 6pot calipers?
I have read in many threads overhere that they are not suitable for the track, but assume it is related to them being used with the OEM calipers. Due to the OEM pad being quite small in surface comparing to e.g. BMW performance or AP, I am wondering could they cope with heat if used in proper 6pot calipers? For example, if I look at the surface of BMW performance calipers pad, it seems to me the surface is almost doubled. Any guidance is much appreciated!

I ran them with my AP's as they were fitted upon purchase of the car. They didnt like the heat much though and cracked and fell apart.
Using RS29's now |

DS2500 is not a track pad in any application. I've had the displeasure of running them in a variety of cars including on 6pot Alcons with 400mm disc and they overheat and smear themselves all over the disc, leading to massive vibration, every time.
Any amount of track work needs proper pads like Pagid or performance friction. |

They are fitted to an Evo I've just sold, if presented with a few hard stops they fade.
I imagine they could last 1 or 2 laps hard pace. They are nothing more than a fast road pad. Try rs29 rs19 ds3000 pf01 or Carbotech xp8/10. All much better for track |

Used DS2500 since I bought the csl 5 years ago, never had an issue on track ever. They don't like being worn down to below 2 or 3mm though - that's when they can cause issues, but most pads do that. DS 3000 are a race pad that I use in the race car, they are sintered so will probably make your alloys look knackered after a year or so. Pads are very personal choice, what suits some people doesn't suit others. I guess it's a case of try them and make your own informed decision?

On road they are perfect.
On track they leave deposits on discs and are not up to the job IMHO.

When I ran them on my RS500 with 6 pot floating AP's they never felt that good use to brake 50 yards earlier than when I ran carbon metalic split pads, they also after a few laps looked like someone had been knocking chuncks off the edges.
