Emotional Day
My baby was driven off this morning to it's new owner Greg.
Can't beleive she has gone, best car owned by far. Going to test drive a E92 M3 and a FQ-400 and see what picks my mind, fancy a turbo but will miss the quality of the M. Will see! Anyone owned a FQ-400 on here? are they good cars? obviously build quality is not a question, but performance I hear they are very rapid. Greg will be introducing himself on here probably tonight so big welcome to him, some of you may have met him before as hes usually at the ring and spa. Regards Thomas |

Sad day indeed mate, but hey ho. Always fancied an Evo myself but don't think I could live with the build quality and crappy materials on a day-to-day basis. Track car then yeah, defo.
Good luck and I'm sure there's room on the man train for Greg, |

Hi all - I'm Greg. Thomas was extremely brave and didn't shed a tear as I drove away in his baby (well, not that I could see). I'm very happy that I've now got custody of her and will do my best to take as much care as Thomas did; well, except I may take her on the track now and again..
Anyway, I'm based in Hertfordshire, have owned an E46 M3 and a 997 Carrera S (yikes - terrible experience) and am looking forward to getting stuck in to my CSL. Hope to get to know you all. PS: Thomas, it occurred to me on the drive home that the personal plate may be of use to you if you buy an E90 M3, so if you need me to transfer it back to you, let me know, it's no sweat. |

Excellent, Shimmy. Excellent roundabouts in WGC I'm Harpenden, so not so far.
3wheels3 - I chose the Carrera S instead of a CSL a year or so ago as I thought I'd run it for a year or two, get into 911s, save some cash and then pick up a decent 997 GT3 when the prices had come down enough. That was the plan. However...couldn't get used to the engine being in the wrong place (and the weight transfer) and it caught me out a couple of times on the track. Must be my high level of driving skill And I was unlucky because everything on it went wrong, cost me £6k after the warranty ran out. And in a 911, EVERYONE on the road hates you. Had driven no more than 5 miles in Thomas's car yesterday and remembered why I'd lusted after the CSL. Thomas, seriously, try the E92. They are undeniably quick and fun, but Evo has too much of an image problem. |
