another clutch thread!
Quick question on clutch warranty pay outs.
My Cesil is suffering from judder at slow speeds in 2nd. Seems to be a common fault with csl's in the fifties K age group. I've just got my car back after lot of work at the stealers which subsequently was not covered by comprehensive warranty. I need reassurance that the clutch will be covered before returning the car. Any advice would be good for morale!! |

Depends whats wrong with it, if it a case of the clutch face being worn (even if not to the minimum) then Insured warranty won't cover it as it's considered a wear & tear item.
However if the clutch face has worn, or is damaged, as result of a mechanical fault with some other component (pressure plate assembly, flywheel, crankshaft oil seal etc) then it's considered consequential damage and it's replacement would be covered. Hope this helps. |

Tom
NZ_M3 has done some good threads that give info on the clutch problem. If gave me enough info to get my clutch replaced even though it was worn. |
