Default OEM CSL Airbox

I'm starting to part out my M3. First off is my OEM CSL airbox which needs no introduction but still... some of the benefits in short;

- This is a very rare item and very hard to come by, which costs £5000 plus from dealers

- It is the best modification that you could do to your M3. You get more power and an intoxicating induction sound. Unless you go to race tracks on a regular basis, This should really be the first modification that you do. How useful are track orientated modifications on B roads?

- In words of J Clarkson; "CSL is in the top ten of the best sounding cars ever made"

- No exhaust system sound, can match the induction sound. Air being sucked into the engine at an immense pressure and beyond 4000rpms, it is beautiful.

- OEM CSL carbon fibre airbox is a world class craftsmanship. If you appreciate engineering then you'll probably want to hang this on the wall first! :D I kid you not - before i installed this airbox in my M3 - i had it in my room for like 6 months! :roflmao:

- A sound money investment IMHO. You'll not lose money on it unlike on copy items which you might struggle to sell. OEM airboxes are always in demand. See for yourself and start a similar thread anywhere! :roflmao: I am not going to criticise copy airboxes but even the best ones do not come close to real stuff.

- Power and torque gain.

- IMHO CSL airbox is a much better investment compared to supercharger kits.

a. To get a kick from a supercharger you must 'floor' it and for this you need a long, open road.

b. If i raced my M3 360bhp against a SC M3 500bhp from red lights (i am not suggesting that you ever do such things! :D ) i reckon i'd be not much slower. 500bhp on rear tyres is a compromise in traction and what power is good when your tyres are spinning? Of course, once moving, like on an airfield the 'whining' SC M3 will have the upper hand.

Here's some vids to help you decide if you need one. :D

Pure automotive porn!! :thumbsup:

Well done in getting it sold mate, good result.

£5000 for the Airbox. Another couple of grand and you could get a rough E46 M3! In fact, you could get a decent E36 M3 for the cost of our Airbox!!! That's madness.... but good all the same.
