I have the Intravee in my M3 with Nav. Best solution for 16:9 screen by a mile but also works with the single line Business HU.

You will need to make up a cd changer lead as the standard csl wiring does not have this. I made up my own wiring loom as I already had the intravee from my old car so thought it was worth using. It does display the details on the screen, but it is a bit more tricky to use than using it on te nav screen in the old car. If you are going to keep the factory radio it is the best idea for ipod. |

I've got a DICE unit (Silverline), which I had professionally fitted. It's worked perfectly for me. It might not be technically as good as the Intravee unit, but avoids the need to fit the Alpine box as well.
I like the fact that you can choose to navigate either from the headunit with the buttons, or via the iPod directly, and also that the track/artist details are displayed on the headunit. The only downside I've found is that the navigation from the headunit is a bit slow.

Right chaps help required
A good friend has kindly offered to both sell and help to install the intravee to the mudflapped CSL at the weekend. He also has mudflaps on his M3 Its a cult thing. Anyway Ian, you mentioned making a lead and I couldn't wire a plug so to simplify this what exactly do you mean? will a lead from an non e46 CSL do the trick or what do I need to acquire before saturday??? My friend currently has this fitted to an E46 M3 with the nav screen so Im sure fitting to the BMW Bus HU will be slightly different. |
