To those that run coilovers at the Ring...
Simple question...
Firstly do you drive with the traction control fully off or or with M-track or full DSC on? Secondly, to those that run with traction control on, especially those that run with it fully on (not M-track) do you find that it triggers more since fitting the coilovers? Basically, I've brought a set of Intrax and speaking to a mate today he said that when he ran KW V3's on his M5 it made the DSC trigger much much more than with the standard suspension, and I'd be silly to fit my Intrax for the purpose of the ring as the DSC will trigger so much that I'll actually be slower. I don't have a CSL so I don't have the option of M-track, and turning it fully off is not an option at the ring. Round a normal circuit, maybe even spa, yes I would turn it off, but not round the ring. Any help greatly recieved as usual |

Firstly just coz a mate can't drive or set up his suspension or has dodgy Tyres or pressures doesn't mean good suspension doesn't work.

Just soften the rear for better traction.

To be fair, he is a good driver and done well over 100 laps of the ring over the last few years. Irrespective of tyres and ability though, if it triggered the DSC more then it triggered it more... so to be able to put that down to poor suspension set up, I wanted the experiences of others So do you use DSC? I'm guessing most will use M-Track? and nutters use nothing I get that, but did the DSC trigger more? |

Mine doesn't trigger the DSC in M-track any more than normal.
But then again, I usually drive with DSC completely off anyway. One weird thing I have noticed since fitting Intrax, going through Karussell @ Ring on warm up laps with DSC fully on, the car tends to want to understeer and scrub out of the top of the banking. Probably a combination of too much camber (only happens in damp/cold conditions) and stiff Intrax setting. With M-Track or DSC off there's no issue.

As shim says need to find your level not your mates I'm running coilovers no issues .. M track good to dip and find the levels Off the best ..
BUT. Why the he'll does it matter if your not racing earning points or trophies ? Enjoy your car, track days and the ring etc to the best of your ability, if you want more race and take the plunge some good MX5 stuff coming up .. Seriously

Just drive smoothly - you don't trigger the DSC at all that way
I have KW Clubsport and drive in M-Track mode at the Ring - the only time DSC flickers is when the car goes light over the bigger crests.
