excuse my ignorance,
with quite alot of bits available, how can you define a correct car, even modern cars have been clonned so to speak. What are the chassis/ build numbers to look out for cheers dave |

I'm no expert, but these are my observations.
There is M3 CSL on the logbook, standard M3's will not have this. I think another issue in making a fake here is cost, a CSL is worth more than its sum of parts. The front seats £3000 each for example, then you have the added problems of adding a carbon roof, buying a front bumper (£2500) wheels & exhaust are different, rear bumper is different, bootlid, interior carbon door panels, carbon console and there will he a whole host of different parts to a standard M3 that I cant think of and I havent even started under the bonnet! CSL has M-trak mode, a standard M3 does not have this and i'm not sure if the SMG software can be upgraded or if the hardware is different. I can see people in the future breaking these cars to sell for parts! very sad! |

just do an HPI cheque on a car if you are going to buy it
also do a bank transfer that way the money can be traced |
