Broken coil springs, bmw or not?
I've got a couple of broken coil springs, both the rears if I remember correctly. Would it be sensible to just replace with standard bmw items, or would this be a good opportunity for some aftermarket items perhaps 10mm lower?? What would you suggest?

Welcome to the Forum mate, wee introduction is always welcomed.
If you've not got warranty, I've heard of some using the opportunity to change all 4 to Eibachs for £150 or something daft. I think they have a lifetime warranty too and haven't heard of any breaking. However, if you have warranty, BMW will replace them under that. |

Duncan, it is indeed a csl, thanks for spotting that, I can see why you asked
Sailorbaz, I don't have the bmw warranty, chose not to renew that a few years back now, so far 'touch wood' I've been lucky. I'll investigate those eibach springs, £150 for a set sounds pretty good. After a quick search....
Ebay Link AFAIK, the same set suits both cars. You can always call them up to check. However, I don't think they will lower the car any as the CSL springs are different from standard M3 springs. I could be wrong though, I'm sure others will point this out. Let us know how you get on with these if you go down that road, I don't know anyone with a CSL that has fitted them. Normally, guys go for Coily's when the standard gear becomes...let say, not-so-good. My mate has them fitted on his M3, just for looks but has been impressed with them since he fitted them 3-4 years ago. Drops the standard M3 nicely. About CSL height, just what he was after.
