The crash tyres do a good job. some of the damage is pretty light

should have more of them on circuits.

Looking at some of the cars after the impacts with the tyres, the damage is surprisingly light.

Wow, the bloke in the Lotus was very lucky!!

Nothing wrong with this corner provided you brake before the brow and treat it as a wide hairpin with a very late apex. If you brake after the brow you're off early. If you get the power on before the apex you're off late!

TIP; after braking before the brow aim for the traffic lights on the bank and turn in late, then apex late and let car run to the end of of the rumble strip on the outside of the corner. Anyone who tells you they can brake after the brow in a road derived car is dreaming or driving too slow!!

Ive done Castle Combe just 2 weeks ago and saw this video before. I think its just inexperienced drivers mainly, that corner has a ridiculously late apex

I could never quite weigh up the problem!

The corner has a huge straight leading to it so braking is very heavy for it, braking is also over a crest and the line through the bend is not the easiest.

It is not that tricky to fathom out though. I think the main problem is that you can go on track there quite regularly for £20 a session so the type of driver will be very different to on a track day!
