Question Now a good time to buy?

Hi guys

I wanted your expert opinions on whether now is a good time to be getting into a CSL and at what cost for a circa 60k mile car?

My intentions would be to sparingly use it (I have 3 other toys) and hope that I would not lose any money on the car over 4 years.

Do we think prices are going to increase over the next few years as they become rarer...purchase price would be £40k.

Interested to hear opinions...

If you keep it for long enough, it will definitely go up in value, especially when the US market opens up. Not sure if four years is long enough to get any significant appreciation in value (unless you get it for an exceptional price).

Mind you, Brexit may sort itself out and people will start putting money back in cars again and so things might change all of a sudden, I just wouldn't buy any car at the moment as an investment and counting on it.

Thanks for the reply.

I take it the US would be open to import once the cars are 25 years old, therefore another 9 years away?

I am not overly bothered in making a profit, just don't want the car tanking to £25k in 4 years time. I wouldn't have thought a CSL would ever be worth less than an M3 CS and they seem to be at the £20k+ mark and rising...

It will only tank if someone sells a car at a stupidly low price that then sets a precedent. If people held fast and refused to sell when the prices were low on other cars or refusing stupid offers made (which requires there to not be a necessity), then the values should remain firm.

Was shown a copy of this months Classic Cars.
CSL is listed at one of the cars to buy now
If I was you I would start looking & get an idea what you can get for your budget.
So many factors will affect the price
