Default Std Alarm systems?

After parking the CSL once during my week with it, the alarm went off numerous times. It is parked on a sloping driveway which I think is the problem, I'm guessing it is 15 to 20 degrees. . Unlocking and relocking reset it but it wasn't until I drove it again that it stopped alarming. It only did it to me the once.

Anyway it was fine when I left on Thursday but it would appear that my dear wife decide to try to drive the CSL yesterday, but didn't get far. She couldn't work out the SMG (although we have had one before) and couldn't start it (Hurrah!) However the alarm has been kicking off again as the neighbours have just complained (it did it while she was out).

Any ideas? I can't get back for a month odd, can the noise of the alarm be switched off, can it be locked with the immobiser on and alarm off? I'm slightly worried about the light weight battery being knackered by this before I get back too...

Yo dude

I doubt it'll be the slope. I park mine on a steep slope and it's never 'falsed'. A mate of mine has recently had a lot of trouble with his alarm (sounds like what you're experiencing) so I'll ask him what they did to sort it and report back..........

Cheers Elliot, I was searching MTorque as I remember the ole bonnet catch thing. It could be that...

I'll tell her to WD40 these three spots!

Press the remote lock twice that switches off the ultrsonics. also open all the doors and boot and bonnet and close them again that some times helps.

Actually I think in my mate's case it was the bonnet switch (still waiting to speak to him).

The boonet switch causing the alarm to to go off is an E46 design feature! Most people I know who have owned an E46 have had this problem. Change the bonnet switch and all is well.

Take the car to the dealer and they can tell what sensor is causing the alarm to go off. (9/10 are bonnet switches). A couple of quid to replace.

My alarm has been going off occasionally in last week.

I've just disabled the interior sensors to see if it still goes off. Also stupidly I've just opened and slammed bonnet so now I won't know what's causing it

Anybody else had alarm issues?
