Would you swap a 1M for a CSl
Hypothetically speaking.
I have been offered a good CSL grey 60k miles For an exchange of a 1M that I have I am not sure. SMG vs Manual Engine noise vs torque Very rare vs rare Or just buy it and run both but that means x2 expenses |

If you can go for two. If you don't go for the CSL.

Congratulations on the 1M too. I found that the running costs were similar in terms of insurance/tax/RFL. Servicing costs depends on where you are in the servicing schedule, and obviously inspection 1 or 2 for a CSL is quite expensive. Other big difference was warranty - the CSL was about £95pm for comprehensive, and that was for one with < 60k miles. It would be a lot more for > 60k miles. The 1M was £365pa for comprehensive. One final consideration is whether you need to pay storage costs. |

Thank you !
I think you have made a very valid point about the warranty. I am about to warranty the M as I will be using it to drive to work. I would also use a CSL for that role for that matter. I will see. If I can sell my E30 then the CSL may be on the cards as well as the M and I will also have storage. Can you keep a CSL outside? Does the roof suffer? Could always wrap the roof for protection and remove that in 3 years time ? I plan to use both cars. Otherwise it's wasted insurance, MOT, Tax etc Quote:

I would have thought that leaving the CF roof to the mercy of the sun for a long period cannot do it any good. At the end of the day we are talking about a material made of hydrocarbons which I think over time will break down or weaken if not protected by a cover or such like. I hope someone will correct me but....
Pop it in a garage or keep it covered at least when not in use. Keep both if possible would be my choice. Pip |

i had both up until recently, In short, the 1M made for a better road car and the csl a better track car.
With values sky rocketing on both models i opted to use my hill climb car for track days and sell the csl on, Glad to have owned both but the csl will get less use and be slightly more costly due to it's age- keep them both for the summer then sell the csl on imho |
