Default LIGHTS ON DASH!

Was driving along today and 10mins into journey got a beep and lights come up on dash. Wont go off.

Lights are DSC, handbrake, ABS, Runflat and Sequential M Gearbox.

Any ideas what it could be, went to BMW and dont have a slot till weds. Couldn't even get a mechanical out to have a quick look. Not happy.

The one thing which maybe coincidence is I took both from seats out to clean, but made sure not to turn ignition on whilst airbag cable was unplugged.

I had the exact same lights come on after i had disembarked the ferry in France last year en-route to the Ring. I was proper worried at first and thought the car had gone into 'safe' mode for some reason.

I decided to take it straight to a local BMW dealer in Dunkirk. One thing immediately apparent was that the car felt entirely 'normal' in acceleration, noise and performance so it cant have been the safe mode?

The mechanic hooked the car up to a diagnostic system via the dash and did a full reset and steering wheel check? It was simply put down to a glitch with the car as apparently they can get confused moving on a ferry without actually driving and the car throws a wobbly!

Maybe this gives an insight? I certainly don't think the seat removal is any issue and i'm sure that your problem will easily be sorted on Wednesday - it only took them 15mins to do mine

Normally that relates to a faulty wheel speed sensor. All those systems rely on data from the WSS so when one goes tits-up it has to throw up an error and in some cases (ABS/DSC) shut them down.
There's also a steering angle sensor which can cause this.
Or it could be an odd electrical glitch, dodgy fuse, iffy battery type stuff, but the most common cause is faulty WSS.
Won't cause a problem, you just need to be allowing for lack of ABS and DSC.

Or the alternator may be on its way out, had a very similar experience last year.

Well, lights were all cleared and drove 50 metres and came back up again. ABS sensor needs replacing apparently. Anyone had 1 changed? ££?

Yeah I had a wheel speed sensor and it wasn't expensive at all. Sorry can't remember but it was very cheap.

(ABS/WSS are the same thing, just different terminology).
