I find it very odd that the CSL has not risen like the GT3RS or even the GT3.

back in the day when they came out (say 2003 to 2005) the CSL was always compared to the 6.3 and the RS. when out at the ring the CSL was always nearly as quick as the GT3s.

some say it has sth to do with race pedigree and all that with the RS and GT3 due to le mans, Carrera cups etc and the CSL had no real homologated series. but I find that is a little bit odd as its not like we are all buying Cup cars.

rarity wise the CSL is up there with the GT3.....250 odd RHD GT3 mk2s for example compared to 422 CSLs.

given time they will climb as people will realise how truly epic they are.

having owned 2 of them I can wholly vouch for that and one of the best balanced cars out there with a truly epic racing sound when you open the taps.

look at the value of the Sport Evo e30 M3s...£100k plus.

£95k for an 80k mile car:

CSL will get there in time.

I think people ignore the csl as they see it as just another M series without the toys and not worth bothering with. When the gt3/rs are mentioned a dedicated top notch drivers car comes immediately to mind. Porker leave the toys on the base model, S & GTS models.

BMW should leave the toys to the 435. As it is now M stands for the most powerful MARKETING.

I think prices will rise £5k a year so in ten years prices will be around 80k or so at worst,I'm certain of this

I would disagree - no pun intended, but the Porkie owners are probably higher up in the net worth ladder, thus they have alot more staying power when it comes to selling. I find that CSL owners (not all, just some on the margin) are having financial trouble in keeping her, thus reselling at less than desirable prices so to remove themselves from the debt burden. Just my observation from the UK market. Remember prices are determined at the margin and anyone who's selling at fire sale prices sets the market expectation.

You could make the price 100K tomorrow as long as the current owners have the ability to not sell. That being said, you have to put it into perspective against things like the GT3/RS etc. But yes, 80-90K I think is fair for such a well engineered machined. The E92 M3 GTS was not a thorough engineering project in my eyes.
