If you buy the car with a warranty in place, you are paying for the warranty within the asking price.
If the previous owner then cancels the warranty, then it's a bit of a poor do, particularly if you are not told that's what they have in mind when you purchase.
Comprehensive Warranty renewal is £860.48 whereas a New Policy is something like £1500.

Yes.

The old warranty was never cancelled, indeed I had some work done under the terms of the old warranty when the car was mine before it expired.

But when I wanted to extend it, I had to take out a new one, with my details and the car's details at the time.

When i bought mine, the owner called BMW (mondial) & said he was selling the car & would like to transfer the warranty.
I gave them my details & bank infoover the phone & mondial collected payments from my account the following month.

Car was on 76k & monthly fully comp zero excess warranty & is now on 84k with fully comp zero excess warranty @ £87 monthly.
