Its the cast aluminium base that is the problem, very common on all E46 M3's.

Hello John - The best of luck with posting pics, I'm still trying with varying degrees of intermittent success - this place has a mind of its own. I suppose it gets easier with practice once you become familiar with the process.

Good stuff glad to hear it John.

As for pic's, there are two options. If you have an account with photobucket or flickr you simply click on the 5th icon from the right which has a yellow background and a supposed mountain in the picture copy and paste the location from the remote site and thats it.
The other and likely easier option is to click on the paperclip along the top, this then open another window titled 'manage attachments' you simply click on choose file and navigate your way to where ever your photos are stored on your computer, click select or double click it. You will be back at the 'manage attachments window now and you simply click on upload button and give it a few moments to do so. When it has close the screen and simbit your reply as normal.
