My regular passengers do the timing (unaware to me while lapping) and tell me how slow I am, after
Alternatively, when I'm flying solo and my curiosity gets the better of me I use my Garmin GPS

they are the first and last obvious markers on the main straight, on the tourist laps, that have now turned into the infamous BTG laptime markers... the Bridge is a... wait for it... bridge crossing over the track 1/2 mile uphill from the tf carpark....with a big fook off Blue Bilstein sign on it ( you can just about see it from the pk beer terrace) and the gantry is a gantry with a big fook off Red AUDI sign on it after the last bend.... I used a full lap file for the DN track day using the official start line down at the pits, but most people still time BTG as thats what all the joe public knows about

Nope, I did 8:34 full lap,
BTG about 8:07 ( in my car it takes about 28 seconds to cover the 1660m inbetween the gantry and bridge ) there are 3 lap times associated with the ring.... 1 - full lap, this is rarely used for manufacturers data/dick swinging but is becoming more common nowadays - ferrari's 599xx used the proper lap in its 6:58sec lap 2 - full lap excluding the start/finish straight at the pits, this is the old school timing that Radical used with their 6:48 lap record.... 3 - BTG this is the clarkson 10minutes in a diesel jag time that everyone uses on the tourist days
