Indeed. That is why the car is 1 000Km far from me. This is my brother's DB6.

piece of piss job to do, just need to make sure you are careful with the magnet tool when removing and refitting shims
the tool is about £10 from the dealers, only other specialist tool apart from feeler gauges you need is a mic to measure shim thickness i measured all valve clearances and any which were out of spec i removed and measured thickness of shim then refitted it so i could continue to measure the rest then ordered the appropriate size shims from BMW, fitted them then measured all clearances again to be sure they were spot on the spark plug tube seals and rocker gasket are annoyingly expensive only 3 shims required for mine, car was noticeably quieter after and has been tip top since remember and remove spark plugs when doing the clearances, makes turning over the engine by hand much easier |

Thanks a lot for your feedback !
Work has been done. Only 2 value were a little bit out of tolerance. All belts have been changed and some other pieces. Now we are starting full body paint. I will create a topic with pictures |

Glad i could help. Looking forward to your pics.
Is your current paint work in such a bad shape that a full respray is needed?

I have my car for the last 10 years. It seems that in the past it has been used a lot on racetrack...and made some runway exit. A lot of stone chips in front bumper, all round also (mostly on left side).
My plan was to repaint only the front but when the painter saw the car he explained that not only the front need to be done but also both sides and rear due to the general aspect (in spite of my detailling !) Finally I signed for a complete paint |

Let me be more clear. May be my traduction of the stuation was not correct.
The color was not the problem. The general aspect of the rest was more a problem considering my objective to get a perfect result. Now may be you can call and learn them how to do , but before, I suggest to have a look to their work on the website. Who knows, it could help you to understand the situation : http://www.ladyartcar.fr/carrosserie...eine-et-marne/ You will find the pictures sorted by model at the end of the page. The AM DB6 is belong to my brother. Last edited by Olive; 29-03-2017 at 08:10 AM. |
