I think I can guess who you are referring to. He drives the ring well too.

Nice to meet the Shimster at Spa, although I'm sure I've met him before. One of those faces you always remember.

I met a guy at the ring in a modded E92, the guy was very keen to tell me how much better and faster the E92 was and how he regularly gets under 8 mins.
I followed him out and left him for dead in my CSL, never seen him after that. He was a whopper. |

yep, both Monday and Tuesday at Spa i think i found every single E92 out there and the only one that was quick (quicker than me) was a blue Shirmer one, wing, splitter with Schirmer along the side. Rest got taken to the cleaners. However as few of us were at Bedford Autodrome this week in the E92 doing a few laps of the South Circuit in the wet n their stripped out modded cars and tbh the cars were very easy to drive, lovely power delivery, DCT was superb, but car was heavy and not as well balanced. My gut feel was CSL would be quicker around.

That V8 & DCT in the E46 CSL chassis would be sublime though

That sounds just like the owner of the before mentioned tricked E92 M3 IIRC he is a bit of a CSL hater ... and as U say, a whopper.
