My rs29's front and rear need replacing and I'm happy with the set up/handling and disc wear so will buy again.

Any of you chaps know how to identify calipers? Everyone tells me it has part numbers on them, clearly mine must be the set that don't have any....I know the fronts are differentiated by whether they have dust seals or not, are the rears the same?

The part no. is etched between the mounting holes on the caliper so you need to separate the caliper from the mounting bracket.

although CP5575 and CP5555 are two e46 front callipers and only difference is 1mm thickness difference in front pads, same shape/profile pads used.

You are running K Sport and they are prone to pads sticking as piston does not return 100%, this would cause your squeal.
i can 100% confirm i have no sticking pads and all pistons return fully and brakes don't bind. got friends running xp8's in evo's with ap's and they squeal.

gav the lancer register is full of info on the xp range and they'll be a pad to suit your need. two thread may be worth a read before committing.

I have never had brake squeal with Carbotech, but Will does in his K sports on the Evo

Likewise I know loads with no squeal, but some do.

I guarantee your K Sports do hold the pad ever so slightly against the disc compared to AP, its to do with the seal behind piston, is square rather than round and it stops the piston being as free as say the AP's are.


Standard Evo brembo and K sports seem to suffer more.

Ah, you would not believe how many people I've spoken to about it & you're the first person to tell me that!! Thanks mate will remove a front & rear caliper and get some pads ordered up
