because you numpty you said the lap times were slower because you were existing quicker and loosing grip coming out!

you will not corner slower but you may not be adjusting your driving to suit the set up properly

you may find straights a bit more challenging but with -3 camber i doubt youllhave any more drag

psycological me thinks

Before calling me "numpty" you should read my post properly

Doesn't really matter WHY it will be faster or slower as long as I can see the difference on the stop watch.

There isn't a set up which suit all

Well done

I like the CH-R wheel...
The problem is that the rear one is 10.5J

BTW, I am convinced not to put wider front wheels.

This

I prefered the 265 35 18 all round set-up and it made me faster, or was that just my driving improving and infact, if I went back to 235 front I would be faster still? Who knows.

But as T$ says, each to their own.
I dont listen to other people now if im honest, I go and try for myself. Ill consider different views, but I wont take them as gospel.

The wider front tyre for me helped with understeer, I did drive tailhappy at times, but that was majority of the time intentional. If in the mood and really pushing on, the car was planted.

The extra drag of a 265 over a 245/255 will not alter the straight line speed to a noticeable amount, the difference will be negligible IMO. The corner exit speed was far more important. And the wider front helped me get a better corner exit thus improving my straightline speed.

The car was more twitchy with the wider front, maybe T$ in the same one armed boat as me, struggled with this? I dont, but I am very physically strong.

One thing to note, is that most of our cars were on different tyres, different tracks, different wheels, different suspension, different tyre pressures, different conditions, different geo/set-up, and most important different drivers.

My advice try for yourselves, small changes wont kill you but they may make you slightly faster/slower than before.

So the slick set is gone, the BBS CH will be sold next week.

CH-R it's 10.5J on the back. I don't know why BBS made them so wide, shall I guess American-pimp-my-ride-style ?

Do you put 265 on this rim ?

depends on thr tyre Alex, some are wider at the lip than others eg 265/30/19 Cups are recommended on 9.0-10.0 only.

Check the manufacturers tables. I doubt insurers would look kindly on out size Tyres after a prang.

I have a pair of 285s to try - i may have to add a little more negative camber at the rear, however!

If that will not work i will try 275 which should be ok.
