I thought it was good when the guy at the service desk, who I think is called Alan, said with one problem, do you know if it has had this problem before, I said I didn't know, to which he said he would find out the full history of warranty work and let me know. I've called the £1 per minute line to check all the history, then written to all the dealers who have carried the services out and still not been able to find out, until now, what has been done

Lets see if it all pans out as well as it has started

I will let you know

Im thinking of doing the same Dan,and getting some warranty work done there,i dont think my dealer down here knows much about CSLs,ive had a chat with them a couple of times,i know more about the CSL than them, and the senior techy has just left and started on his own.Its a hell of a drive for me,but i dont mind that,Murketts do have a very good name with CSL owners.I have had good reports about Cotswold Cheltenham aswell,i had an insp2 done there once, and there were 2 CSLs in there then.

It was, yes we have had that before and that is a common fault, we will sort that. With one fault he said they could look at altering a setting to see if it worked and if not I could get it back to them. I said I couldn't risk that as I didn't want the fault to re occur on my driver training day at Spa and the ring to which I was told, don't worry we will strip it down and change the parts if it does look iffy rather than just adjusting. If the techs carry out what the front desk started it will be a trip I will be making in the future

They mentioned a CSL in the back with a cage, I said I thought it was Duncans sorry Duncan I didnt actually see it
Yeah ... Duncan's CSL has become part of the furniture @ Murketts now Andy Pressland is a TOP bloke, M-car enthusiast and knows his stuff, especially anything to do with the M3 CSL You're in good hands BTW, how's the 116i loaner beast ?

When is yours due mate, we can convoy! I don't mind travelling for the right service and 3 hours isn't that big a deal to be honest, I don't trust any round here, infact the one nearest me in Bournemouth has a very bad name locally...

alternator on / off /on /off (I must have risked this for 6 months)
emission sensors permanently on, the wires can rub and wear through
clutch, not the slur, just slips at speed, up and down shifts, they will strip to see if it is worn, if it is (or close to) they will change
rear suspension problem (not a spring)
exhaust baffles loose when cold, I'm not convinced they are loose although people have mentioned it to me when they hear it from the outside. They will change exhaust if they think they are
Power steering pipe, minor seeping, they are going to change.
They are going to give the rest of the car the once over.

and an oil change whilst its in

they aren't the cheapest, see if you can get them to price match.

You can also supply your own oil (I got it from Oipeman) which BMW charge a bit for. I would also change your own induction air filter and micro filter and ask them to take them off the list they are really easy to do

Could be a good idea then, mine is due in 6k miles time so will look into it in the near future properly

Why is yours worse mate? Mine had a power steering pipe on the rack done before it's last MOT.
